250SX East Champion πŸ† Philadelphia Delivered the Dream!

It honestly felt like the longest main event of my entire life.

Years of hard work, sacrifice and determination have led to this moment. I've dreamed of this ever since I was a little kid and never stopped believing in myself. Thankful for my family for everything they've sacrificed to get me to live my dream, and thank you to Star Racing Yamaha!

Qualifying was a bit rusty to start. I went down in the split section in Q1 but got up and dusted myself off. I worked my way to the top spot with a 50.091, but Seth bumped me down. We both moved into the 49s and I wrapped up Q1 in P2 with a 49.192. Q2 was similar. I went to the top with 6 minutes remaining but Seth bumped me off again, moving into the 48s. Almost had an absolute large one in the whoops with about 3 minutes to go. We finished P2 again in Q2.

Then the sky opened up and it absolutely bucketed down. We were in for our first full blown mud race. The heat race start was really average. I was 7th after lap one and had some issues with my goggles which caused problems with my vision. I made up a position into P6 fairly early and eventually worked my way up to 3rd. It was such a hectic heat race with riders going down everywhere. It took me a few laps to find my groove, which I knew I couldn't afford to do in the main event.

The main event start was crucial and I managed to pull a decent one, coming out of the first turn in 2nd. I have no idea how I avoided a huge crash which unfortunately collected Seth – no idea how we both didn't go down. I took the lead and set my sights on executing laps on an absolutely demolished track. I made a mistake and went down but regrouped quickly. Then unfortunately the race was red flagged while I was leading. Now we had to reset and go again with a staggered restart and just 7 minutes remaining.

The restart was solid. I managed to stretch the gap and with 4 minutes to go I had an 8-second lead. Hitting lapped riders was so sketchy. I could see Seth catching Dax lap by lap. Final lap, Seth went down and I claimed the 250SX East Championship!

I actually got the Pro Circuit boys mixed up at first and thought Seth was second, so I had to double take. It's just so unreal. I can't believe it. This is only the beginning.
