A big step forward in San Diego

San Diego was a solid step forward and a night I’ll definitely remember.

I came away with my first-ever heat race win and a career-best fourth in the main, which I’m stoked about. Each week I’m learning more, and it’s awesome to see the progress we’re making.

Qualifying didn’t go exactly how I wanted, I ended up seventh and felt like I was leaving a bit out there. But I regrouped, focused up for the night show, and came out swinging. I got a great start in the heat race, took the lead early, and just rode clean laps to grab the win. That one felt good.

Lining up for the main with the first gate pick, I got another strong start and managed to grab the lead. I stayed up front for seven laps, which was a huge confidence boost. Midway through, I made a couple of mistakes that cost me a few spots, but I kept pushing and managed to pass back into fourth right at the end.

There’s still plenty to improve on, but I’m pumped with how the weekend went and how I felt on the bike. We’ll take the positives, keep learning, and get ready for Glendale.
