My First Podium at Anaheim 2

What a night at Anaheim! The conditions were tricky with the rain coming in, but I’m pumped to come away with my first podium in just my third pro race. To stand up there with the team and grab third was an unreal feeling.
The day started off a bit average. My first qualifying session wasn’t where I wanted it to be, but I hit reset and came out in Q2 with a much better ride, finishing fourth overall. In the heat race, I had a solid battle and brought it home in second, which gave me some confidence heading into the main.
The track was gnarly by the time the gate dropped - slick, rutted, and super tough to stay consistent on. I didn’t get the greatest start and came around the first lap in seventh, but I kept charging and made my way into fourth by Lap 6. I just tried to stay clean and ride smart in the conditions, and then on the last lap, Smitty went down in the whoops and I moved into third.
Getting that first podium feels amazing. It’s a big milestone, and I’m grateful to the whole Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing crew for the support. We’re building every weekend and I’m keen to keep the momentum going into Glendale next weekend for the Triple Crown.
