Ups and Downs Inside The Dome at Round 2 of SMX

Ups and Downs Inside The Dome at Round 2 of SMX

Round 2 of SMX at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Pretty special to experience it and keep building on what we’ve been working on week in, week out.

Qualifying went fairly well. I ended up 7th overall, which gave me confidence heading into the Motos. In Moto 1, I got off to a decent start around the top five and kept battling. Unfortunately, I lost a couple of positions early and dropped back to 7th. I felt like I was riding well, but the track was tough to pass on, so I settled for 7th.

Moto 2 also started well. I got another decent start inside the top five and felt like I was riding strong, with a couple of good passing spots up my sleeve. A couple of laps in, I tipped over in the sand section and lost a bunch of positions. I got back up and kept pushing but had to settle for 11th, which put me 11th overall on the day.

It wasn’t the result I wanted, but there were definitely positives. The speed is there, and qualifying showed that but I know what I need to work on. The tip-over was costly and just shows how small mistakes can change everything at this level.

Now the focus is on Vegas for the SMX Final. We’ll regroup, keep building, and come out swinging for the last round of the year.
