Tough night in Vegas wrapping up my rookie season

The SMX finale in Las Vegas didn’t go the way I wanted, and honestly, it was a rough one from the start. In qualifying, I had a big crash after landing on a tough block on the side of the track. I was already carrying niggling injury from Charlotte, so everything felt pretty beat up heading into the night. Still, I managed to qualify 10th and lined up, determined to give it a go.

In Moto 1, I didn’t get the best jump and came through in 16th after the first lap. I worked my way forward to around eighth in the opening laps and was starting to settle in, but then I collided with another rider and went down. That ended my night early, and we made the call to park it from there.

It’s frustrating because I wanted to finish my rookie season on a stronger note, but sometimes the cards just don’t fall your way. The injuries have made it tough lately, but that’s racing. The positives are still there to take - two wins, four podiums, Rookie of the Year, and third in the 250SX West Championship, even after missing the Salt Lake City finale.

Now the focus shifts to getting healthy, the goal is to come for the AUSX Open in Melbourne, Australia.

It’s been a crazy year with a lot of highs and lows, but I’m proud of what we achieved in my first season and I won’t stop fighting.

Eyes are already set on next season.
